1. Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?
My recent release NIGHTS LIKE THIS is a mixture of R&B and the profound drill rap that’s becoming the new rap sound in the music industry. The story behind this song is that it’s a late-night love or entanglement, whatever situation you’re in with a girl/guy. Collab with one of my closest friends since grade school, Xavi, he and I tell a narrative how the women we’re currently affiliated with have us in our feelings and that we’re deeply attracted to their presence.
2. What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?
I consider myself a versatile artist because when you look at my discography, I like to try all different sounds of music such as R&B, rap, punk/alternative rock, whatever sounds right to my ears, I’ll lay my vocals on and make a hit. I don’t want to be entitled to one particular sound because then every song I make, may sound repetitive, however, I listen to my fans and give them what they enjoy hearing.
3. Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
The best moment of my career easily had to be the year 2020. Even with the pandemic, I managed to step my foot in the door of reaching out and getting as much engagement as possible and it paid off. I dropped two mixtapes starting my own series called Heartbreak Melodies, had collaborations with Day Lee and Unodavid, had an article written about my song Vwu 2.0 featured on Banger of the Day and had the money to actively invest in my music and build my home studio. 3 years into my music career, it shows that hard work really pays off.
4. How do you balance your music with other obligations — family, friends or work?
I try to accumulate my time surrounding myself with people and environments that help me stay focused on achieving a full-time music career. I’ll admit, I’m not perfect. I’ll have days where I feel out of touch with music and not work on it for weeks because of work, however my job fuels my investments and passion for making music. Also, I have my family and closest friends to give me their full support. I’m actively in touch with them and my relationships are on very good terms which helps me alot mentally. I’m always there for them for anything and everything as they are for me, and I’m very grateful for them.
5. What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Thoughts become things. If you can envision the dream/goal, feel what it’s like to be in or have it, it will happen. You just have to believe and surround yourself in situations that’ll bring you closer to your end result.
6. If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Hard days set us up for better days. Always be positive.
7. What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
Make as many songs as possible and when I know mentally it’s ready to be released, I’ll be dropping weekly, leading up to my debut album.
