1.Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?
Summer is a song I made about a girl I grew close with over the Spring who soothed my wounds after a traumatizing event in my life. Unfortunately, Over the Summer, I lost her trust and had to cope with losing someone I grew attached to. I was devastated and struggled to deal with the newfound anguish. Losing bonds are already hard for me but losing and hurting someone you truly connected with was a new pain for me.
2.What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?
I like to think of my music as a way to dive into my complex Sagittarius’ mind that is oftentimes a burden to me. Instead of making music for others or to please a specific audience, I instead make songs for myself and to connect with other intellectuals and misfits who might be able to relate or feel distant from the thoughts, perceptions, and projections of the mainstream world as well. My music is therapeutic to me and it’s a projection of my vulnerable emotions and how life is portrayed to me. I don’t really like to consider my songs as songs I much rather describe them as journeys and experiences. A Trip, an escape from your immediate world, the distractions, the sorrow, anguish, expectations. A means to take a break from life or reflect back on it. In most of my songs I produce myself, I let my soul and emotions control the direction of the track. Sometimes I have an important story to tell and other times I just want to geek about one piece, a fruit basket, and a fruit gusher. I don’t shy away from toying with my art until it sounds the way I envisioned it to be.
3.Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
When I dropped “Royal Garden” on my 20th birthday (November 26, 2017). It was the start of me really going after my dreams and gaining the courage as it was my first mixtape release. I’m also super proud of this work of art because I put so much mustard into it and produced and put most of the songs and overall project together myself and it was like in a sense a goodbye to the teenage mischievous trouble maker from Jersey as I moved and started to become a much more consistently positive person.
4.How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
Thankfully my family is super supportive of my music and wants to see nothing but for me to succeed and chase my dreams, me doing so inspires them. I don’t have many friends but the ones that I do have are super supportive as well. On top of that, I’m a growing individual who is currently still recovering from his worst year (2020) and grateful for the minor setbacks because it created so much growth for me… Growth, my arrogant ass formerly thought he didn’t needs. I love my solitude but I also love and cherish my connections and bonds I’ve created. I know this world can be lonely and cold especially when you’re a knowingly flawed, reflecting, and growing individual so I always make sure im there for my loved ones the best I could be and check up on them when I’m not lost in my own world.
5.What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS AND DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE. Also, we creatives especially when we make vulnerable art that means something to us get discouraged by criticism. Don’t be afraid of criticism. It’s very important, remember you’re unique everyone shouldn’t like or understand your art or your brain at first. If you’re unique and innovative then it should take time for most to understand where you’re coming from and what you’re trying to be art-wise. Criticism for me motivates me and lets me know that I’m doing something right and I’m onto something. Most people hate what they don’t understand until they gain the knowledge or ability to understand it.
6.If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Know you’re loved, I know life can be tough and it can seem very dark and lonely but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you well in your life journey and I can’t wait until the first time we meet (: And I’m currently working my ass off on this album. It’s going to be the best thing I’ve created so far. I can’t wait to share it with you all!
7.What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
I’m currently working on my debut album “Antivillian” It’s in phase ii right now and I’m planning on getting out there with my debut in performing over the year. Performing is a dream man. Hah, this is surreal.
