OUR BEST INTERVIEW WITH THE TALENTED DLZ

1.Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?

My newest single Free for All dropping in June was a work in progress. After countless months working on this record trying to find a catchy concept I finally had a beautiful chorus. After finishing the verse I flew to New Hampshire to record it at Nox Beats Studio. The rest is history.

2.What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I would describe my music as intense but also, natural sounding. After years of recording myself I finally feel comfortable behind the microphone which wasn’t always the case I had to learn that skill. What makes my music unique is the tone, emotion I put into my records.

3.Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I feel I am just getting to the starting line after 4–5 years into this journey. My proudest moment I’de say is yet to come. But honestly just sticking with it, so many artists give up after a couple songs because they didn’t “do well”. I’m proud of the passion I continue to have for music.

4.How do you balance your music with other obligations — family, friends or work?

Balance is truly key to maintaining a good mindset. You don’t want to get burned out but you also want to stay engaged. Working 35 hours a week it’s tough some nights after a long shift but I remember this is what I signed up for. The gym is a great way to balance the stress and family is all you have in this life so keep them close.

5.What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

The advice I would give to an aspiring artist is to start. Just start don’t think about what other people or your family will say or how they will view you. That’s with anything you do in life. Don’t let their perception win against your true passion. Manifest your thoughts and I promise you you’ll be much happier. The 2nd piece of advice I would give is to not be ashamed to fail, because that’s the only way you’ll learn and to not repeat your mistakes.

6.If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

I appreciate the patience and I promise you were just getting to the starting line. The love you all have shown me over the years is incredible and I’m just now creating the best music I possibly can for as many people to relate to.

7.What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

What’s next is singles. Singles, singles, singles. Every month of 2022 I would like to drop a single and stick to that. I love albums but in this day and age the attention span of the listener has shrunk and looking at this from a business perspective it makes more sense to drop singles for now.
