We invite you to discover his music right now and to discover our conversation with him below:
1.Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?
“Faded” came about when I had sent an instrumental to Eric Abel for him to topline. It was our first time collaborating and when he sent me the topline I got really excited because his voice and melodies were so clean and unique. The lyrics describe the feeling of wanting to change when meeting the right person. Long story short, Eric is saying that he doesn’t “want to be faded anymore” because he met that one special person, yet, meeting that special person is cause for celebration, hence the ‘danciness’ of the music.
2.What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?
I believe this song is unique because while the lyrics are describing a situation in which you don’t want to be partying anymore, the music is very dance-leaning. This is also reflective of the contrast in the concept, essentially partying because you’ve realized you don’t want to party anymore. I would describe this track as warm house with a solid groove and bounce.
3.Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
The most proud i’ve ever felt was when I played a show in Madrid, Spain, opening for a russian DJ named Slatin. It was my first gig in front of a really large audience. When I started my set all the power in the warehouse went out, which made me really nervous, but the whole crowd started chanting and cheering to keep the party going, so, 5 minutes later, when the power came back on, I played my set and it was even more epic and impactful.
4.How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
I currently go to Berklee College of Music, so it’s pretty much 24/7 for me. However, whenever I’m not in my studio I try to go outside or talk to people (on the phone, or in person). It isn’t easy but I have to make it work because friends and family are a huge part of my musical inspiration.
5.What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
I would say, in terms of musicality, keep your own council. My mom always says that to me. Although being open to criticism is super important and helps you grow musically, people can tell when something doesn’t sound like “you”, and that is the most important part of what makes you an artist.
6.If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
I’d say get ready for a very different and exciting 2021, should be pretty fun.
7.What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
I’m currently working on a couple new singles and a collaborative EP with a very good friend of mine, coming out in the very near future!
