OUR INTERVIEW WITH JJ FOR HIS NEW RELEASE “MY WAY”

1.Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?

All my life I’ve always worried about other people’s opinions and held back on my own ideas, thoughts, and personality due to the society we live in. My new single “My Way” is about being yourself and doing “you” and showing people that it’s ok to be comfortable in your own skin and step out of the shell that the world put us in.

2.What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I would describe my sound as melodic more on the singing side than rap, very feely and full of emotion while still delivering a powerful message through my lyrics with hard-hitting lines, wordplay, and a catchy chorus.

3.Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

One of my favorite moments in my career was back in March. I was at work showing one of my coworkers my music and I looked myself up on their phone and the first thing that popped up was an article that Lyrical Lemonade wrote about my Song “Bigger Picture” and the crazy thing about it all was that the article came out the same day that the song released on March 31rst and I had no Idea I found out almost three or four months later.

4.How do you balance your music with other obligations — family, friends or work?

I keep God first in each and everything I do, I also keep a schedule on all of the things that I need to get done and what time throughout the day. Luckily for me most of my friends and I work together on everything that’s put out. Big shout out to Matt Hanssen, Jack James, Logan Reilly, and Jeremiah Epps for playing a big role in all of my projects.

5.What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

The best advice I can give an upcoming artist is to never stop. Keep going and work consistently. Understand that you won’t see major growth overnight. Most importantly don’t be afraid to invest in yourself, you are your own brand. Stay consistent, stay patient, and stay true to who you are. Everything else will speak for itself.

6.If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

I want to thank each and every person who has supported me on my journey. All of you play a huge role and because of you guys I understand that this music is bigger than me and I’m blessed to be put in the position to leave an impact on people’s lives. I will be giving back to my fans really soon.

7.What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

You can expect a new song every month and I will be doing a lot of shows. And I can’t give any exact dates right now, but my EP is coming soon
