1. Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?
My new release: “I Can’t Lie” was a song that has been in the works for a long time. I first produced the instrumental and sang on it with Clay years ago, then, Clay and I spent most of the week, for months, working on refining this track, adding vocal layers, removing vocal layers, & adding instruments.
Once we were finally happy with it, I and Clay sent it to an artist we both looked up to a lot –
“Tom The Mail Man”
We were honored to have him hop on the track and we think the song turned out truly special.
Tom also introduced us to an engineer he knows “Jon Sambrick” and he was able to polish the track perfectly!
It feels surreal to finally have the track out, I hope you like it!
2. What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?
As an artist, I think it is important to be able to mix, master, sing & produce. By having knowledge in all of these topics, you can achieve your vision for a song more directly, and, I think it has helped me with my music a lot in regards to it being unique.
Most artists say that their music is versatile and many don’t lie, but, I really don’t see many artists making a full rock track, and then going back to hip hop, and then creating a bedroom pop piece. I like to make around 2 songs a day, almost every day, and when doing so, I practice every genre.
3. Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
Every time I meet new artists or get to have fun making songs with the right people, it just makes it all worth it.
Recently I went to an artist retreat in Florida hosted by another artist, “Matthew Tuck” –
With about 50 artists in a mansion making music all day, I’d say that weekend was probably one of the best times in my career.
4. How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
Music takes a lot of time, and most of my friends and family know that, but, more important than that, music is about balance.
Sometimes, if you don’t feel like you can make great music at that certain moment, it might be time to go outside for a walk or hang out with some friends.
5. What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Believe in yourself so much, that no one else even has to. Sometimes people are insecure, and they won’t give you credit until you’ve shown them what you can do 10 times.
6. If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
Find what makes you happy, and do it every day until you are great at it. Once you are great at it, you can make it your job.
7. What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
I can’t wait to share my newer work, everything I have been dropping is pretty old. I have been leveling up crazy fast and working with a lot of dope artists.
I have about 500+ half-finished songs sitting around, and I plan to put together an album eventually.
For now, expect a few more singles and maybe a music video.
