OUR EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH BREZZY ABOUT HIS LATEST OFFERING “CUP SPILL EP”

1.Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?

This Cup Spill EP was created during a special moment, where the vibe was just right. I had myself set up in the studio with a lil sum to drink. Just enough to get a lil emotional and in the mood for the right song. Searching for something melodic that I could play throughout the summertime with smooth energy, I came up with this bundle of tracks. Each one of them deals with the ironic struggles of loving someone but also expressing no desire to escape from that situation. Having someone you love opens a certain perspective to find a sweet spot between melancholic and happy vibes. I feel that’s where this project lies.

2.What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I’d say what makes my music unique is that it doesn’t have a “type”. The part I love about making music is swerving between moods and genres and letting all those different influences impact & challenge your sound. I’m also very drawn to seasons. Summer through Winter, I love making music that expresses what I feel at that time, and just like seasons, it can constantly change anywhere from Trap to Indie Pop.

3.Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I’d say so far the best two moments were signing my first Promo Deal for a project and getting posted on promoting sounds. Regardless of the results, making those experiences and handling legal aspects of this industry has helped me gain a lot of priceless knowledge and helped me out so much as an independent artist.

4.How do you balance your music with other obligations — family, friends, or work?

I gotta say this is the greatest challenge of my life right now. Working a full-time job, getting a bachelor’s degree, and making music all at the same time doesn’t leave much time for anything else. Having a supportive and loving circle of friends and family that understands my hustle is the most important thing giving me stability and confidence to keep going. I’d love to have more time for music but at the end of the day, I gotta pay rent and provide for myself before anything else. My biggest goal is finally getting to a point where I can financially afford to do music on a full-time basis. Seeing what I’m already able to do with the time I have now, I cant wait to see what happens when I get at it 7 days a week.

5.What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Improve your craft and don’t settle. There’s always room for more. Take advice from your surroundings but also realize that everyone will have their own opinion of what is “good”. At the end of the day only what YOU feel is good music can truly become good music. Also, remove all dependencies and costs where you can. Learn to master all the steps of your value chain (production, recording, mixing & mastering, etc.).

6.If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I’m grateful for any constructive feedback and support. Thanks for sharing my music with your friends and family. Ultimately, that is the best support and promotion I could ever hope for.

7.What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

Being independent makes this very exciting. I’ve got so many unreleased songs and there are constantly new ones coming. The plan right now is to release more projects and stepping up the visual content throughout the year, showing the crazy variety of sounds I have going on.
